I love summer! Winter is great and beautiful in many ways, but summer is where it’s at as far as I’m concerned. Well, unless you live in a suburb of hell, aka Arizona, in which case I can totally see how people find winter to be the bee’s knees. Thankfully, we are extremely blessed and get to leave Hell’s suburb and head north to Flathead Lake, Montana and enjoy an amazing seven weeks. Don’t even get me started on why it’s such a short period of the summer.
Summer in Montana for us is full of people. This year we literally had three days where it was just us. Outside of that we had company in the house every single day. While we loved spending time with our family it really made the time go so much faster. We’ve been back for two weeks and I’m still struggling with that.
I’m also sad to report I didn’t get my camera out very much. I did get the obligatory 4th of July fireworks and camp fire shots though.
Once the weather really heated up around the 4th of July the water, freezing as it is, felt really, really good. There were many days of floating our cares away and just enjoying being unplugged and in nature.
This is 100% home for us. It’s so difficult to get back in the car and point her south. I know in time we’ll be able to fully move back but sadly now is not that time. Until then, we’ll take ever second we can get.
